At Ozark Water Projects we turn your used shoes into clean water.
Through the collection and export of used shoes, we are able to purchase well digging supplies, water purification systems, and material to make hand pump repairs in Haiti, Africa, and Uganda.
We collect gently used shoes from shoe drives at schools and churches. These shoes are exported to support micro-businesses around the world. We receive .35 cents on the pound which goes to funding clean water projects.
Digging wells, Installing Water-Purification Systems, and Repairing Hand Pumps
We travel to Haiti, Uganda, and Africa to dig wells, install water purification systems, and make hand-pump repairs to those in need of access to clean, safe drinking water.
The Journey to Unsafe Water
Without access to clean, safe drinking water, everyone suffers. Girls suffer the most because they are generally responsible for walking to get the water and returning it to their home. The water they find is not safe to drink and the journey to get it takes all day, forbidding them from an education.
Not only do the hand-pump repairs, wells, and water purification systems provide clean water, but they also restore pride to the community as people are able to once again provide for their families:
• provide safe and clean drinking water
• provide time for school
• provide economic advantages
How Can You Help?
Thankfully, there is something all of us can do to help. By partnering with Ozark Water Projects you are able to help us provide hand-pump repairs, wells with access to clean water, and water purification systems to those in need.
2017 Haiti Project
Our most recent project was to Haiti, where we provided access to clean water to approximately 10,000 people. If you would like to be a part of our efforts to bring clean water to those who thirst, explore our website, and contact us.
"Ozark Water Projects exists to improve health, education, and economic opportunity on a global scale by providing ongoing access to clean water for those who thirst. Our focus is to provide water through the most effective means possible for communities in need."
