We Turn Used Shoes Into Clean Water

Volunteer Center

Welcome to our volunteer center! On this page you will find various ways our friends have found to bring clean water to those who thirst. All of our volunteers are crucial to our cause. We absolutely could not function or reach so many people without people like you in our community. We are grateful to be chosen as an outlet to give by so many, and we hope you will find our organization worthy of your time.

"Refuse to do nothing"

Shoe Picker-Upper

Shoe Picker-Uppers volunteer to receive a text asking to pick up shoes in their area when shoe buckets are full. By becoming a Shoe Picker-Upper you are agreeing to be asked to pick up shoes and drop them off from time to time. We currently have a text message group of individuals who share the load. If you don't want to be a shoe picker-upper there are many other opportunities for you to help our organization!

Host a Shoe Drive

Host a Shoe Drive at your school, church, or business. During the school year we present at schools across Arkansas to kick-off shoe drives. We collect shoes from students of all ages. Students make great givers because they are still growing and love the idea of helping others with their stinky, old shoes. During the summer months, you can find us at Vacation Bible School. We have fallen in love with the congregations who have taken on our cause. Businesses like Bologna Joe's and Rock City Running have become shoe drop off locations. Drop off locations are necessary for our organization to reach more people. If you think your school, business, or congregation would be interested in hosting a shoe drive or becoming a drop off location, please contact us.

Shoe Loader

Ozark Water Projects has a warehouse where we store our shoes before we export them. In order to export our shoes we need to have about 20,000 pounds of shoes. These shoes need to be transported from the warehouse into an 18 wheeler that parks at the warehouse. The more people we have to load, the faster we fill up our big rig. Depending on how many volunteers we have this process can take anywhere from 1-3 hours. If you would like to be added to the list of Shoe Loader volunteers fill out the contact information below, and we will contact you when our warehouse is full!

Sole Saler

"Sole Salers" make an effort to stop by garage and estate sales. Whenever a "sole-saler" passes a sale, they stop in to check on the shoe inventory. If there are shoes at the sale, our "Sole-Saler" will ask the seller to contact them when the sale is over if there are any shoes left they would like to donate to our organization. To be able to be a "Sole Saler" all you will need is a flyer explaining 'Who We Are' and the impact their used shoes can have on people around the world. If you have any interest in becoming a "Sole Saler" fill out the contact information below, and we will provide you with all you need to be successful!

Also, if you have ideas on how we could make more of an impact in our shoe collection, we are eager to hear your ideas. There are many ways to help Ozark Water Projects, Inc. bring clean water to those who thirst. These wonderful men (Landon Montgomery, Steve Perry, Jason Jones, and Steve Wright) chose to be shoe loaders and made fast work of 2,700 pounds of shoes from Westside in Searcy. We are so grateful for our volunteers every step of the way.
